What To Do?

Glarey, I understand your quandary.  The conflict between attending to your area of interest as opposed to Earth Ball's many needs has immobilized you, but don't worry; that's why I'm here.

To help you with your decision, let me tell you the story of the greatest physician of all time, Dr. Malari A. Very Scary.  Like you, Malari had a special Very Scary interest, and had devoted her life to learning all that there was to know about when to use plaids with stripes.  She was the foremost authority and the first arbiter considered when the leadership of Orange Sparkle Ball struggled with a plaids/stripes dispute.

Malari A. Very Scary is credited with the design of the first Very Scary flag to combine plaids and stripes, and as you know, that flag still flies today.

In time, Malari began to feel drawn toward sub-Saharan Africa right here on Earth Ball.  As you know, there have been Very Scarys here before us, and Malari A. Very Scary found her calling in the fight against mosquito-borne diseases.  She arrived with bednets, insecticides and drugs, and has been here ever since.

Recently, she did a tour of the U.S. gulf coast, and was able to spot a looming problem, not from the mosquitoes, but from a chemical called formaldehyde used as a disinfectant and preservative.  She personally created mountains of red tape keeping trailers made with chemically toxic products from being delivered to that disaster area.  Thousands of those trailers still sit empty, thanks to Malari.

My point is to follow your heart, Glarey.  You are a Very Scary.  You will find your way.  Just remember the words of the Great Sage, "Every journey begins with one Very Scary step."

Have fun along the way -- if you look closely, you'll find that the mosquito bednets all have the slightest hint of a lovely plaid, and are hemmed with a matching stripe.

And that red tape...

Yaya V.S.

Sister dear, use your eye! I can think of at least three ways to do Random Acts of Very Scary using your area of expertise. After all, on Earth Ball, you don't have to look far to find the pear-shaped figure!
